Privacy Policy

Your name, email, phone and password when you create an account; your business details for verification (entity type, EIN or SSN for tax reporting, and DRE/BRE license where applicable); the properties you add and the documents you upload; and the tenant, applicant and payment details you or your applicants enter.

When you invite an applicant to apply, the applicant provides personal information and consents to a credit, background and eviction (and, where applicable, Megan’s Law) screening. Screening is performed by our third-party consumer reporting provider (TransUnion SmartMove / ShareAble). We do not store full screening reports or credit-report contents on our own servers beyond the summary result and status needed to run the Service; the applicant typically pays for their own screening.

Rent payments and Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe. RentalHaus does not store full card or bank-account numbers — that information is handled directly by Stripe under its own security standards. We store the payment records, amounts, and status needed to show your dashboard and reporting.

Device and app information, general location, and usage data that help the Service run and improve. Our website uses first-party analytics to understand how the Service is used.

Publicly available and licensed data — including property records, rent estimates and comparable rents — that we use to auto-fill listings and market details shown in the Service.

To provide and improve the Service; auto-fill and distribute your listings; run applicant screening you request; build and e-sign leases; invoice and collect rent; verify accounts; provide support; send transactional messages; and, where you opt in, marketing about RentalHaus. We do not sell your personal information.

With service providers who operate the Service on our behalf — our consumer reporting provider (screening), Stripe (payments), email/SMS delivery, hosting and analytics — under confidentiality obligations. Tenant and applicant contact details are shared with the property owner or manager who invited them. We may share information to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect rights and safety.

If you use RentalHaus to screen applicants or manage tenants, you are responsible for handling their personal information lawfully — including fair-housing, FCRA adverse-action, and applicable state and local requirements. RentalHaus is a tool you use; you are the party that decides how tenant and applicant data is used.

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect information and retain it for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. Uploaded documents are stored privately and are accessible only to your account.

You can access and update your account information in the app, unsubscribe from marketing emails, reply STOP to marketing texts, and request deletion of your account by emailing us. Some records may be retained where required by law.

The Service is for business use by adults and is not directed to children under 18.

We may update this Policy from time to time; the “last updated” date reflects the latest version.
